Grad School
Mar. 17th, 2004 11:23 pmI am amused. I just got an email from the professor at Temple that I would be working with if I went there for grad school. I decided not to go there this year because they have no monies for lowly MA students, but they are puting my application on hold until next year in case I change my mind. Dr Bowlman said:
"My work on the Red Monastery and its wall paintings is going along very well, and is exciting. I have already taken one graduate student to the site, and have hopes of taking more in the future."
Translation: We may be poor but if you came and studies with me you might get to go to Egypt.
Heh! Bribes! Tempting, very tempting. Yet they still have no monies for me, although they did offer to help me find a job at the school, so if all else fails and no one else will give me monies I may consider it next year.
I have already herd back from Bryn Mawr and Priceton - Denied. :-P
I am accepted at UNC Chapel Hill but don't know about funding from them yet. They have an exciting amount of students working on early medieval stuff and a professor who is interested in Celtic crosses (neat!) amongst other things. Apparently she knows my advisor so she was looking for my application - yay networking! Apparently it is also good that I am maried because they won't have to worry about my dating my students or trying to get into the same school as a boyfriend. Hank wanted to kow if this was commonly a problem. :-)
I am still waiting to hear from Harvard, University of Delaware, Notre Dame, Duke, and University of Washington.
