(no subject)

I was really sick on Friday, and it sucked. I had taken lots of Vicadin, had a midterm in the morning, and had a dinner as part of the art history symposium. I managed to throw up both before and after the dinner, then crawled back home. I don't think I did too badly on the midterm, but mis-identified one of the slides on our comparison, which is a real bummer. I presented my paper at the symposium on Saturday and did pretty well. I also ran into the professor whose class I had the midterm in and told her how sick and drugged I was, so she will hopefully take that into account when grading. I also have a midterm in her other class tomorrow, and I let her know that I am going to the dentist tomorrow morning. So hopefully if I end up having serious dental work done she will be easy on me. :-P On the plus side I got a nifty little certificate for being part of the symposium and they are going to bind our papers and give us each a copy.

I was feeling better today so went to Poi in the Park at Laurelhurst Park on the east side of Portland. There was no one there at first, but eventually I saw a guy walking with a staff, and followed him until I got within talking distance. He taught me a few new poi moves, and eventually a few other people showed up. I learned that there is a poi get together every Friday night at --Hi, says Hank! -- George Fox College in Newberg, and they have permission to do fire in one of the parking lots, so am looking forward that that. But not next Friday since that is when my show is. Tonight is the big fire jam downtown under the bridge at the end of Salmon St. on the east side. Unfortunately I have to get up early and go to the dentist so I don't get to go. :-p I am also going to dig out my unicycle because one of the women at the park said she would help me practice if I helped her.
