On sunday morning I found Corwin in the theater and he couldn't walk and was having trouble standing up straight. He was having a lot of trouble moving and was really confused, like he couldn't coordinate his movements. One day, an ex-ray, and a heart ultrasound later it appears that he had the cat version of a stroke and has an enlarged heart. Unfortunantly there is nothing I can do to make him "better" aside from wait. Like human stroke victims, he may regain more mobility, but it is hard to predict how much or how fast. I was really miserable for a few days because he looked so bad - having trouble even holding his head up. But he has been getting a little better every day. He is still at the vet and I have been visiting him a few times every day. They are keeping him on an IV so that he doesn't get dehydrated. I had the choice of bringing him home today or keeping him there one more night and I choose to have him stay another night because it seems like the greatest danger at this point is having him not get enough fluids. He is eating by himself and going to the bathroom, and he managed to crawl from my lap to my mom's today and move around a little better. He will probably come home with me tomorrow or the next day. I am not sure how this will affect my plans for the immediate future - I may not be able to be gone for long periods of time if he needs someone with him a lot. Depending on what happens and how much he recovers I may just day-trip September Crown. Anyway, life is definitely interesting and not in a good way these days. I am just happy that he is more aware, and is purring and happy when I hold him. Corry has been my companion since I was 11 or 12 and is like a family member.
