At Trigvy’s War this weekend I was put on vigil for Laurel – go me! I wasn’t expecting it at all – I was completely fooled into thinking I was going up for a token of some sort until His Majesty started talking about my glass in addition to the juggling fun of before court. The only odd thing is that I am not sure exactly what I am getting laurelled in. Glass? Juggling? Glass and juggling? Juggling glass? Being cool? Generally being a good ninja? We have yet to discuss at which particular event it will happen, but if possible Acorn War would be really cool, since more of my household could come. I will certainly let people know as soon as a decision is reached. In the mean time I have Elric making laurel jokes at me at odd moments and I can’t seem to get “My Awards Go Jingle Jangle Jingle” out of my head. And yes, I do mean the naughty version. ;-)

It was pretty cool actually getting on site while it was still light for the fist time this event season. Admittedly it was getting quite dark while we were putting up the pavilions, but we still has a bit of twilight! I helped with several sewing projects during the weekend (the royal ermine garb o’ doom, largess goodness), and practiced my juggling. Her Excellency 3M asked me to juggle during court, so I dragged Elric up with me and we had a good time juggling and making a spectacle of ourselves. We are thinking that offering our services at other courts might be fun too, especially if we knew in advance so we had some time to practice! His Majesty asked to borrow the juggling balls and can do some pretty spiffy 3 ball tricks, and is not so bad at 4 balls either. We offered to let him in on the “who can do 5 balls first” bet, and he expressed interest in getting together to juggle at some point. Perhaps this would be an auspicious time to start agitating about the physical performance / juggling guild I have been thinking about for a while?  After that there was that whole getting called up in court thing, of course, and then much drinking ensued! Luckily I know someone who had quite a bit of pear cider to augment our bottles of mead. It was also Rebekah’s birthday weekend, so we hung with da’ pirates and ate many smores, and I almost spattered Jason with flaming marshmallow. I also now have a hat to borrow for the party at Sept Crown – woot. And for all y’all who missed it, my pirate name is Candy.
