Sep. 1st, 2006 09:10 amToday is Hank and my 4th anniversary! We have been married for 4 years, and an item for almost 10 years. We went out to dinner last night at Bush Garden in Tualatin, and ate outside next to the water - it was nice, though the food wasn't as good as the last time we were there. Then we celebrated by coming home and not packing, so we may wait to go up to Crown until tomorrow if we are too tired tonight, but aren't totally decided.
Theo is doing better. I am now fairly certain that either he fell off of something or get his by an opening door due to his reactions. He still plays with Rasputin like crazy, so I don't think that she accidentally thwapped him, which was my biggest fear (note - there were no other marks of any sort on him, just a blunt impact near his eye). They were wresting in the hall way last night which was pretty silly - HUGE black puppy and fuzzy black cat wrestling . :-P I think Rat thinks she is a cat. If I call "Here kitty kitty kitty," she comes running along with Pip and Theo. Sometimes BETTER than Pip and Theo. As soon as I get a harness for her I am going to start cart training lessons with her and a trainer in Salem. At any rate, back to Theo - I am wondering if he got whackled with a door because he shyed away from the inside garauge door when I opened it the other day, and if he had gotten behind one of the neighbor's doors when they were openeing it I could see him getting thunked in the head. His eye is almost its normal color again, and he doesn't mind my touching the area around it and acts just like normal.
I was going to have a riding lesson on Wednesday (don't die of shock anyone) but it had to be put off for a week due to the horse recovering from an injury. I was on a horse once last year thanks to
nobu and decided that since I an autocratting an equestrian event I should really be able to ride. I like horses, and am fairly usd to them despite having to get over a fear of them caused by a riding accident when I was little, but I never had more than a few riding lessons as a kid beause my parents' made it clear that we wern't going to get a horse when I was growing up. Lately I have been getting more interested in SCA equestrian activities thanks to Macha, and because I feel like they add a lot to events. I also have a mundane friend who is involved in horse archery, and it totally kicks butt. If I ever do get more into riding, I could see myself going in that direction - yet another thing to add to my list of weird hobbies. :-P My riding lesson has been moved to next Wednesday, but if timing gets tight next week I may put if off until after Acorn War. It will certainly be a good "fun exercise" to add to my list. I am also meaning to sign up for a yoga class here in Newberg along the fun exercise lines.
I have been spending at least half of every day working on metal work and am thinking about it as a possible buisness now that I am getting dad back into making jewelry also. I am taking a small buisness class this fall, so that will hopefully help me decide if it is something I want to do in addition to "fine art."
