Welcome to goblets! Don't worry about stems. They're easy once you stash bits in the garage. I just wish we still has people to straighten everything out in the annealer like they did in old Venice...
I am pretty excited about the whole goblet thing - I have been wanting to do them *forever* so yay! Now I just need a garage and I will be set up to do them in my shop to. Well, that and 6 more weeks of classes so I will really know what I am doing...
I will totally make them to sell once I am descent at them and have all the equipment at home. Sadly they will probably be pretty spendy, even at my very nice SCA discounted rate, as they are pretty labor intensive. Apparently the way to get good goblets is just to spend a month making goblets with the same people, so everyone gets their moves down.
I would considering doing so in the future. Right now we have a pretty small furnace and I have limited time availability, but if you send me an email with your contact info I will let you know when I might be available to teach. vandy (at) vandybennett (dot) com
