Tonight’s dress fitting went well. The dress is coming along nicely, as are the vegan jello shots, which greatly help the tailoring process. ☺ I finally appear to have the right combination of flavoring, alcohol, agar agar, and various other stuff. So, without further ado, here is the recipe for the winning vegan jello shot of the evening:
Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups boiling water
¼ cup cold water
1 Tablespoon agar agar flakes
1 Tablespoon corn starch
2/3 cup cane sugar
1 packet black cherry koolaid
¾ cup vodka
Directions:
Bring 1 ¼ C water to boil on stove. Add in agar agar, then reduce heat to simmer. Simmer until agar agar is dissolved (2 – 5 minutes), stirring frequently. Mix corn starch in with cold water until dissolved, then add to simmering liquid. Add in sugar. Continue stirring vigorously as mixture thickens and sugar dissolves (a couple of minutes). Remove mixture from heat, and add in koolaid and vodka, mix thoroughly. Pour into little plastic shot glasses (makes about 9) and place in refrigerator. It should set up in an hour or two. Run a knife around the inside edge of each glass before serving.
