the first week is set up and some party stuff has moved to earlier. There are totally tons of people there early on thou...just not An Tir usually. Who ever gets there first should coordinate with the pennsic An Tir campmaster to help with tent spacing and space assignments.
But the war is mainly on the second week with everyone leaving pretty much on sunday morning or even sat night.
All the main night time parties start on friday of the first week and go thru the following fri or sat night.
If all goes well we should fly on thurs previous week and return flight on sunday morning. I've got a yurt on hold that we may be buying from a lady who stores it onsite. There is a merchant guy in PA who is looking out for tents for sale. Mostly wall tents are easy to find in this area.
I think Canada/Crazy Kate and Sir Godric are good resources for suggestions or advice about attending pennsic.
The second week is definitely the best time to be there. There's nothing wrong with the first week, it's just smaller and quieter (but still bigger than any event in An-Tir =P )
There are a lot of classes the first week. It's kind of fun to be there the whole two weeks. The first week is very relaxing. We're not sure if we're going this year or not.
