Yay glass! Boo rain.
Apr. 25th, 2003 07:39 pmI actually got to the place where I am going to rent glass blowing studio time and it is great! It is part of a park and there are trees all around and a brook... sigh.. things I miss living in the city. I got to make a punty and help out a little bit while I was there, which was cool(well, quite warm really), and observe how the shop works. I passes the punty test (Rick Sherbert, the guy who's shop it is, said it looked good). He said there was a lot of discussion on what to do for burns on the hot glass mailing list, and flinched every time he looked at my hand. He apparently fears burns more than any other sort of injury. And he chose to become a professional glassblower? Anyway, I will start renting next week probably. They also gave me cookies, which was very nice since I neglected to eat breakfast.
I was going to go juggling today, but it stared raining really hard, so I am going to do my laundry instead. Probably a wise decision. I will read and drink Dr. Pepper and do laundry. But first I need to find change. Why don't they have a change machine next to our coin laundry? Sigh.
Important discovery of the day: There *is* a spatula in my apartment! It makes creating tuna melt sandwiches much easier. It has been hiding in plain sight on the counter for over a week. It will remain in captivity or melt.
