Grad school

So, I got a call from UW today. Apparently the Medievalist there could only accept one student this year, and I was the alternate choice. Unfortunately the first choice accepted. Sigh. Why am I not first choice??? I mean, UW, really, sigh... I was also on the list of alternates for Duke. This depresses me. I guess it is better than being flat out rejected, but in some ways it is worse because I was so close. Still havn't herd back from Chapel Hill about $$. At least if I am an alternate this year if I take some more languages and stuff maybe I will be a first next year I guess. :-P
