I think I just figured out the Rasputin and Bug Bite Mystery. I let her inside earlier today and she bounded in with one of those cylindrical yellow-jacket traps held in her monuth like a toy. STUPID DOG!!!! OMG. At least they aren't in season anymore and nothing was crawling around inside it. SO I tell her to drop it, shove her back outside, and then of course the stupid cat (Theophilos) wants to go check it out. :-P I hucked it out into the trash can without seing anything stirring, which was a relief. Why can't my animals have some selblance of intelligence and self-preservation?

On a less hecktic note I finally got around to transfering the Cycer I have been fermenting into the glass carboy to age. I probabaly should have done so a week ago, but have just been to busy. It is right on the mark alcohol wise with the hydrometer reading at 0.010. It tastes like cyder but way alcoholic and nicely dry. I think I will be quite peased with it after it has a chance to age and mellow a little bit. I haven't done anything to the cider that I have been letting ferment naturally. A lot of people don't transfer it to another container before bottling. This is also the one that rasputin got to, and I just stuck a plastic bag on it until I got a new air-lock. I am considering it the experiment. I also did the stick a handfull of rasins in it thing, so it will be interesting to see how it turns out. Maybe rasputin spit is good yeast food? We may have the start of an interesting lable design...
