The sound of loud chirping fills my house
May. 17th, 2007 08:57 amWe have juvenile birds in our attic vent. The one just over the family room / office window. They are LOUD. Luckily the area is closed off from the rest of the attic. Our plan is to wait them out, then when they are kicked out of the nest we will replace the screen with something better that birds hopefully can't get into. When we first discovered them they were itty bitty chicks, and we couldn't face the idea of poor orphaned chicks dying because we moved their nest. Then there was the day when Hank asked me if I would still like the dog if she ate chicks because he hadn't heard them in a while and they might have fallen out of the nest. Mmmm crunchy chicks! But no, they are still there. Chirping oh so loudly and keeping me from sleeping in. Plus the loud defensive noises the parents make, since the vent is just over the dog door and the dog run, so they keep Rasputin entertained. Oh well, I can consider it getting up early training. By Saturday morning I should be able to be up at 6am with no problem... :-P
