Crown Goodness
Sep. 5th, 2007 09:16 amCrown was a lot of fun. I thought it was going to be my last event of the camping season, but it looks like I will be day tripping Summits Coronet now! ;-)
So I fought and it didn't suck - go me! I did get way hot, even though I was trying to be careful, so I only lasted half of the squires tourney. But I fought far better than I feared, got a lot of fights in, and generally feel good about myself and the whole thing - woot! The most entertaining part is that I fought several guys I know and they totally didn't realize it was me. This would be understandable, with me being in armor and all, but I also had my very distinctive shield. I mean, how many woman fighters are strolling about with a HUGE PURPLE CHICKEN HEAD on their shield???!!! Anyway, I am entertained. ;-)
Boccie was a blast. Juggling was jocular. Court was relatively concise. The awarding of cool people I know was awesome. Food was fantastic. Company was convivial. etc etc etc. I can't think of a low point of the event aside from getting too hot for a while and having to pack stuff up and leave. I even got a shower after fighting - SO nice. Well, I missed the Hank. And I did miss my menagerie, and am happy to have my two cats glommed on me and the dog watching me with rapt attention waiting for me to do something more interesting than type. I missed my babies. I am contemplating bringing one of them (either the crazy bat-dog or the cat in the bag) to coronet with me, but we will have to see. A small part of me is thinking about trying to find a place to crash out on Sat night at the and leaving early in the morning Sun to go work on the house, which would be complicated by the addition of a pet.
